Physio+10 focuses on the journeys of trailblazing Physiotherapists and today's conversation is with Dr Alison Grimaldi. Following her PhD, Alison has carved a niche in researching and treating the hip area.
In this conversation with Alison we learn;
Alison completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in 1990, a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 1997, and her Doctorate in Philosophy in the Field of Physiotherapy (PhD) in 2008. Her PhD studies were concerned with improving our understanding of hip muscle function and the relationship between hip joint pathology and weight-bearing stimulus.
With 30 years of clinical experience and particular expertise in the management of hip, groin and lumbopelvic pain and dysfunction, Dr Alison Grimaldi is Principal Physiotherapist at Physiotec in Brisbane, Queensland. She continues her research as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland and through collaborations nationally and internationally. Alison has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, contributed to three leading texts, conducted over 100 clinical workshops, and presented over 50 keynotes, invited or podium conference presentations. She provides both face-to-face and online education through her learning platform, Dr Alison Grimaldi, and has built an online global professional community within her Hip Academy.
